Sanjoy calls for timely completion of road

ITANAGAR, Aug 19: Member of Parliament Lok Sabha Takam Sanjoy laid the foundation stone of C/o Road from PWD IB to Bali via Nevedita, Monai at Seijosa today. The proposed road is being taken up by State PWD.

While laying foundation stone, he advised the representatives of concern Department for timely completion of the project in accordance with the DPR. Road connectivity being one of the priority areas of UPA Govt and the State Govt concern Department should have strict vigil for its timely completion. He assured to take up NEC Road from Seppa Doimukh via Pakekesang, Sagalee etc.

Later, he also attended Block Congress Rally at Seijosa. It was his maiden visit to the area after Parliamentary election.

While addressing the rally, he thanked the people of 12-Pakekesang AC for having voted for congress which led to subsequent formation UPA Govt at the centre.

As he promised during parliamentary election for immediate persuasion for release of Arrears to the State Govt Employees, accordingly he along with MP Colleage, Ninong Ering, Mukut Mithi,MP,Rajya Sabha and Dorjee Khandu,Cheif Minister had called on and Pressurised Sonia Gandhi,UPA Chairperson and Dr.Manohan Singh,Prime Minister for early release of Green Bonus enabling the State Govt release arrears to its employees.

Politics is like a game and elections at any level should not bring enmity among the masses. The electioneering and Politics in Arunachal Pradesh seems going to the darker side where the situation could be dangerous in the days to come. In his address to party workers, he emphasized for co-ordination among the grassroots workers for the greater interest of the congress party. CLP leader Dorjee Khandu and APCC President, Nabam Tuki should work in close co-ordination with each and every party workers of the State so that people of Arunachal also repose faith on Congress party in the ensuing Assembly Elections due in October this year. He further said that tickets should be given after thorough consultations at all levels.

He also appealed the students’ community for maximum utilization of English language in the schools at all levels and teaching fraternity to implement the language strictly. Raj Bhavan initiates NGO management Prog

ITANAGAR, Aug 20: As a follow up action to ensure that the Bamboo Processing Centre, Poma which is being run under the aegis of Poma Village Welfare Society is properly working with it objectives, an orientation training in collaboration with Raj Bhawan was conducted for its members at Oju Mission office, Naharlagun today. The NGO Management programme, initiated by the Governor Gen JJ Singh, who envisaged the Value Addition Centre at Poma Village was coordinated by his Secretary Amit Singla to see that the society function smoothly and members are aware of their duties and responsibilities. Fifteen members of the Poma Villager Welfare Society, including thirteen women led by PVWS President Techi Anna, ASM Poma attended the programme.

In his key note address, Tax and Excise Deputy Commissioner (Legal) Ando Pangkam, while dwelling in length on society registration said, implementation of any government programme is done through registered society. Therefore, society registration is very important as it provide legal rights. Educating on how to form a society and its registration, Tax & Excise Deputy Commissioner informed that as on today, the registration fee for a society registration is Rs. 10,000.00 (Rupees Ten Thousand) only. Once registered, it has a validity period of three years. Thereafter, the society has to renew it validity every year by paying a renewal fee. Assuring department’s support and cooperation in the process of registration, he advised the Society members to ensure sound financial status of the NGO and financial discipline in their approach. Pangkam added, today we have more than 4000 NGOs in the State. If all these organization works with the spirit of social service, I don’t think there will be any problem of unemployment.

Earlier, welcoming the trainees to the Centre, Oju Welfare Association Chairperson, Binny Yanga, urged them to inculcate spirit of sacrifice and social service towards the targeted community amongst its members. As one of the resource persons, Yanga, who has an experience of more than thirty years in the field of social service said, we have to work selflessly and with dedication. First few years will be tough as financial assistance will not be very forth coming, she pointed. Yanga, while stressing on basic discipline and etiquettes of running an organization also advised them to conduct regular meetings amongst its members to ensure participants of every member. As an encouragement, Oju Welfare Association Chairperson assured to buy semi finish products of BPC, Poma.

Resource persons and subject specialists, Neelav Gohain, Programme Officer and J. Saha Account Officer, OWS, highlighted on project preparation, accounting, records and book keeping. Go green Arunachal

ITANAGAR, Aug 19: The “go green Arunachal” campaign was launched at Namsai sub-division by officers & officials headed by Additional Deputy commissioner, Namsai on Aug 16-17 where approximately 2000 various species of saplings were planted in private and govt. School premises.

The programme also commemorated the celebration of 60th Vanamahotsava of the country.

The forest department provided all the saplings and logistic with the active participation of Divisional Forest Officer, Namsai and its staffs.

Consultative committee meeting of the UD and Housing held

ITANAGAR, Aug 20: The third consultative committee meeting of the department of Urban Development & Housing was held under the chairmanship of the UD & PWD minister Nabam Tuki recently.

The meeting was attended by MLAs Omak Apang, Nani Rebia and Gojen Gadi besides the Secretary (UD) CE cum DUD&H and other Officers of the Department.

Nabam Tuki suggested that DDPs / CDP which are already prepared be taken as draft which may require modification. He expressed his desire to know the progress of de-reservation of Capital Complex from forest Department following the earlier notification issued in the 1978.

Tuki said that forest department should protect the forest areas and initiate necessary steps to de-reserve the habitat areas in the town.

He also suggested ways in which government land will be protected and directed that an enquiry be conducted into how such whimsical and haphazard allocation of government land to public got underway.

The minister further said that the centre is very much keen to provide fund, guidelines, technical knowhow but the department has to take up appropriate measures and implement the projects accordingly.

MLA Omak Apang expressed his satisfaction over various projects taken up under different schemes by the department.He further suggested that urban schemes may be taken up through PPP / PPA mode for betterment of urban areas. Apang also suggested on engagement of good consultants for better architect of different projects.

The urban department should also take-up some schemes based on Gender Budgeting, Security of Women and Urban People, Apang said and added that copies of all CDP/ DDP need to be circulated among the public representative for their appraisal, suggestion and modification.

He also called for maximum stake holders meeting to be conducted while preparing such DDPs.

Apang further suggested that Ruksin in East Siang District may be declared as urban center taking into account that it is near an Industrial Area- Niglock-Nourlung.

Secretary UD assured to take necessary steps to declare de-reservation of forest areas to habituated areas surrounding in all urban center of the states and to conduct a meeting with forest department in this regard immediately.

She also suggested that a suitable procedure be formulated regarding allotment of land in urban centers in consultation and coordination with the Department of Land Management, Urban Development, Town Planning Department and concerned Deputy Commissioner.

T Basar CE cum UD&H Director appraised the present status of the department in regard to all activities. Basar urged the house to recommend the creation of sufficient man-power and infrastructure which is falling short by 80%.

He also urged the house to pursue with the government to provide sufficient fund for the present sanitation programme.

Basar projected the requirement of funds for matching state share amounting to Rs 100.03 crores approximately without which further release of fund from Centre and other agencies will be stopped.

The UD & H Director further pointed out that various proposals initiated by the public and recommended by several authorities is lying in the department with a financial involvement of Rs.127.18 Crores approximately.

He urged the house to look into it along with the requirement for on going liability and few urgent infrastructure(s) of the Divisions amounting to Rs.7.31 Crores.

He also focused on all the projects lying with Central Ministries, ADB and other agencies. In Non-Plan Sector, he expressed the shortage of fund amounting of Rs. 9.60 Crores (approx) for the existing establishment and urged the house for appropriate recommendation.

Town Planning Director In-charge appraised the activities of the Town Planning Department and about receiving representations for extending of various towns from several corners.

He requested the house for creation of some posts in the department as it is still under staffed. He assured that the Development Plan of all towns will be completed within five years.

ANSU, UNO urges

ITANAGAR Aug 20: All Nyishi Students’ Union (ANSU) endorsing the stand of All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) urged the Arunachal Pradesh state election commission and all election officers to maintain free and fair election procedures while dealing in the addition and omission in the voter’s list. The union further urged that the commission carry out the procedure without any biasness or ill motive to any particular constituency keeping the welfare of the indigenous population of the state in mind.

United Nysihi Organisation (UNO) also urged upon the State Chief Election Officer to verify the enrollment of bogus voters in the electoral roll of 13th Itanagar Assembly constituency. It also urged for verification of the actual status of dual voter list in the state capital.

KVK, Dirang take stock of its activities

DIRANG, Aug 19: The Second Scientific Advisory Meeting (SAC) Meeting was held by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, West Kameng District, Dirang today in the premises of National Research Centre on Yak (NRCY), ICAR, Dirang. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss about the overall function of the Kendra which included the ongoing activities during September’ 2008 to August’ 2009 in terms On Farm Trials and Frontline Demonstrations undertaken in different subjects, approval of Annual Action Plan and development of infrastructure and farmland under the KVK. In absence of the Director of Agriculture, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, Dr. K.P. Ramesha, In Charge Director, NRC on Yak (ICAR), Dirang was selected as the Chairman of the SAC Meeting. Altogether 16 members of the committee participated in the meeting which included In Charge Director NRCY, Dirang; Joint Director Industries, Bomdila; Deputy Director Regional Sheep Breeding Farm, Sangti; Sub Divisional Horticulture Officer,Bomdila, member representatives from concern departments and big and small farmers of the district.

Dr. K.P. Ramesha, Chairman in his inaugural address emphasized on essence of KVK in the district and its purpose to serve the rural mass and the farming community for their upliftment through the perspective of agriculture and allied disciplines. He stressed on the requirement of marketing linkages with buyers and consumers for easy flow of agricultural produces in the district.

The inaugural session was followed with two technical sessions whence the Programme Coordinator Dr. N.D. Singh presented the Annual Report for the period September’ 2008 to August’ 2009 and Annual Action Plan for the period September’ 2009 to August’ 2010 respectively.

The technical sessions were followed with a panel discussion among the KVK technical experts and the members of the committee. All the members actively participated during the sessions and made valuable suggestions on necessary collaborative works in various field, building of marketing linkages with APMC, NERAMAC, facilitating meteorological data to the farmers, formation of Farmers’ Clubs, promotion of organic farming and conducting need based training programmes and their impacts etc. The Big farmer representative suggested KVK to facilitate cold storage facilities to make agriculture produce available during off season and also to setup soil and water testing facility for the benefit of the farmers of the district.

The recommendations/ suggestions made by the members of the committee were sorted out and finalized with consent of all the respected members.

Awareness key to save energy: Babu

NAHARLUGUN, Aug 20: MLA Kipa Babu today advocated for mass awareness on use of new and renewable source of energy. Country would not develop unless the citizen are aware about the new and renewable sources of energy, Babu said as a chief guest in the Rajiv Gandhi Akshay Urja Diwas organized by the DC, Capital complex. Giving a brief account of the celebration of the Akshay Urja Diwas since 2004, he said, it was the dream of former Former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi to make the country self-reliant on energy and renewable energy. The people should judiciously utilise energy derived from conventional sources and increase the use of renewable energy, Babu said and urged upon the students, teachers, Govt officials and public to bring in awareness at least among their respective family members and the society on the need of renewable energy.

MLA also urged the APEDA to encourage and involve the farmers vigorously in production of clean and convenient bio gas which would be a bold step towards fulfillment of Rajiv Gandhi’s dream of making India -- Akshay Urja Se Desh Vikas Goan-Goan Bijliee Ghar-Ghar-Prakash. While highlighting the abundance bio diversity renewable sources of energy in NE in general and Arunachal in particular, NERIST director Dr. Joram Begi as the guest of honour said, there are so many sources to produce energy like wind mill, micro hydro project, solar PV Power Plan etc in the state. One must think about utilization of alternative sources renewable energy for better tomorrow. He also emphasized on importance of Jatpatra plant cultivation.

In her welcome address, Capital complex DC Padmini Singla said the main aim of the celebration is to bring awareness among the people about use of renewable energy. The district administration is also encouraging the youths to conserve the renewable energy for future she said.

Painting, 100 meter race, essay writing, quiz competitions among the students of various schools were also organized as a part of the celebration. APEDA staff and officials from district administration were present on the occasion.

DIPRO adds from Daporijo: Rajiv Gandhi Akshay Urja Divas was observed in a fitting manner here today with students from various schools of Daporijo going on a procession around town spreading awareness about the need to conserve resources through slogans and placards stating “Conserve energy, Conserve life” and finally gathering at Rijo ground.

The Deputy Commissioner H K Shalla started the programme with the Renewable Energy Pledge of pledging to ‘consciously avoid excessive consumption of conventional sources of energy’ and later informed the people that because of the limit in production of conventional resources there would come a day when it would get exhausted. He compared the situation to the shortage of commodities being faced by the people of Daporijo these days due to roadblocks and requested them to be careful in the use of resources. He also requested one and all to spread the message of preserving and limiting consumption of energy and engage in planting trees.

Yari Dulom, President, Mahila Congress Committee, while addressing the students on the occasion stated that students are the future generation and so good values, good habits and good practices like conservation of resources should be inculcated and passed on by them to all. She further said that there was no limit to the use of resources as human wants were unlimited and so appealed to the people of the place to use the resources judiciously. She also said that all should take part in keeping the place green and beautiful by planting more trees and keeping the place clean.

The importance of the day and the aim of celebrating the day as Akshay Urja Divas was briefly explained by T Jeram, PO APEDA and all were encouraged to observe the day as only through awareness could change come.

To encourage the students, a sports competition was organized followed by prize distribution by T. Muso, Deputy Director, and Textile & Handicraft. Officers, teachers and other staff who attended the programme were not left out as a ‘Tug of War’ competition was organized for them too. ZPM against improper implementation of NREGA

ITANAGAR, Aug 20: ZPM, Bogong Anchal Block, Pasighat cum VP APPRCC Okom Yosung expressed displeasure over the improper implementation of NREGA in East Siang District and in the state as whole.

He said that out of 100 days of work as per the rule under NREGA, only 10 days has been implemented in the district, whereas in Daporijo full 100 days has been implemented successfully. He urged the Director RD and the Director Panchayat to answer as to why out of 100 days, only 10 days of works has been implemented in East Siang District under NREGA and further appealed the concerned department to maintain the guideline and BADP revised guidelines-2008.

He further said that there is lack of transparency in implementing the NREGA and due to the lack of proper guidance from the PD/ BDO/JE the scheme is not being implemented as per the government norms and guidelines by the concerned department. Moreover, social audit of the works under NREGA has not been properly conducted in the district, he added.

Okom further appealed all Gram Chairpersons, GPM to form the vigilance Monitoring Committee under the supervisor of department, lamented that the vigilance monitoring committee has not been constituted in the district or block level by the concerned department till today.

Rajiv Gandhi’s Birth day celebrated in the state

ITANAGAR, Aug 20: Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee has observed the 65th Birth Anniversary of former Prime Minster of India Late Rajiv Gandhi at Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan, Itanagar today.

Former Minister Talo Mugli highlighting the Rajiv Ghandhi’s achievement called Rajiv as a young and energetic youth leader, who has been always remembered as the architect of modern India as he always believe in working for the welfare of the people.

Minister, Industries, SWW&CD Tanga Byaling narrated the life and contribution of Rajiv for the welfare of the people within a short span as Prime Minister of India. His attachment with the indigenous tribal people of the North East and in particular Arunachal Pradesh will always remembered by the people of the state, added Byaling.

MLA Rajesh Tacho recalled the personality of Rajiv as very hardworking, daring and decisive, who led the country to a new era of development with his far-sighted visionary leadership in the sectors like information & technology, agriculture and horticulture etc.

MLA Kipa Babu said that Rajiv will always be remembered for his dynamism while pursuing causes of national interest. He worked tirelessly for eradication of poverty and for social harmony, advances in science & technology, uplift of weaker section of society, promotion of Panchayati Raj institututions and a central role for youth and women in nation building.

ROING, Aug 19: More than 400 Congress workers and supporters including the party workers of Block Congress Committee have welcomed Roding Pertin former Independent MLA of Dambuk at Bijari under Dambuk sub-division. Pertin resigned from the Assembly and joined Congress recently.

While appreciating the joining of MLA to the Congress, the party workers and supporters hoped that such step of Pertin on time would bring in rapid development in the Dambuk Constituency.

ITANAGAR, Aug 20: Oken Lego has qualified for award of the degree of Doctor of Philosophy for the thesis ‘Dadu Panth Aur Uska Janadhar’.

The degree will be conferring to Oken at the next convocation of the R.G. University.

Club demand cancellation of Viva-voice

ITANAGAR, Aug 20: Kimin Sports Cultural and Literary Club appealed the concerned authority for cancellation of the proposed SSA Viva-Voice of Kimin Block to be hel on August 22.

The club said that they were not satisfied with the written test result and demanded re-checking of answer sheet of all candidates of Kimin Block held on August 18 last.

It threatened to stage Dharna at EAC Office Kimin, if their demands were not fulfilled by the authority.

Water tank – Donyi Polo ground controversy lingers on

Ziro, Aug 20: The Ziro controversy lingers on despite a day long deliberations in the joint meeting of various organizations of the believers of Donyi-polo faith with the Lower Subansiri Deputy commissioner, EE PHED, and others over the controversy on construction of an overhead water tank in the Donyi-polo ground, Hapoli, which ended today without any concrete result.

Views differed with some of the organizations insisted for immediate shifting of water tank to an alternative location while other supported it with some incentives like allotment of the ground floor to the Donyi- polo believers, construction of compound wall and allotment of the land to the Donyi polo society.

At last, on the request for some more time by some of the members to consider the request of the Deputy Commissioner to reconsider their demand of shifting of the Water tank the District Administration has agreed to suspend the construction of the water tank till 7th November next till when the Donyi Polo society, Ziro, shall come up with single view on the matter. On displeasure expressed by the Deputy Commissioner on claims of various organizations over the Donyi-polo ground the meeting decided that only Donyi-Polo society shall take up activities of the Donyi-Polo ground and further resolve to dissolve the Donyi Polo Development committee, which has been spearheading the movement till now. However, the Chairman of the Donyi-polo Development Committee, Ziro, Kuru Tai dissented from this particular resolution. Despite the nomenclature, the ground shall be used by all communities for performing pujas and other celebrations the resolution added.

Earlier, the Lower Subansiri Deputy Commissioner, Sadhana Deori , who called the joint meeting apprised the members that the meeting was convened to arrive at an amicable solution so that peace prevail in the society and requested the members to put forward their opinion keeping in view, the fact that drinking water is an essential requirement for all human beings.

PHE Executive Engineer, Liagi Miri, and the executing and technical head of the project while presenting details of the scheme pointed out that only 80 sq m out of 2030 sq m that too in the northern corner of the ground which was a garbage damping places being used for construction of the overhead water tank to cater to the treated drinking water needs of five colonies of Engineering, Donyipolo, Medical,etc.

The meeting was attended by representatives of Apatani Literary and Cultural Society, Ziro, Donyi-Polo Society, Ziro, Priest Association, Ziro, Meder Nelo Council, Itanagar, Donyi-Polo Ground Development Committee, Bazar Welfare Committees of Hapoli and Ziro, SP, and administrative Officers.

Earlier on Wednesday evening, a team of delegation of the Indigenous Faith and Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh headed by its General Secretary, Augung Bengia, also had a meeting with the Deputy Commissioner to solve the issue, after a joint meeting with Meder Nelo Council, Itanagar, Donyipolo society ,Ziro, Donyi-polo Ground Development Committee, Hapoli, Priest Association, Ziro.(DIPRO)

ZPM calls for sction on H1N1

ITANAGAR: ZPM, 1-Borum, Itanagar, Chairperson Taro Modi concerned at spread of H1N1 cases in the neighboring state Assam, appealed the state government to take necessary and preventive steps against Swine Flu by organizing awareness camp, provision of mask in PHCs and government hospital, proper fund for transportation of blood samples.

Modi further appealed for immediate special training for Doctors to deal with H1N1 in the state.

Stop midterm teachers transfer

ITANAGAR: ZPM, 17-Mechuka-Tato Block Tori Ragyor appealed the concerned authority not to entertained any request for transfer of teachers on political basis from the area.

He said that sub-division is already facing shortage of teachers and some of the schools are in verge of closure due to shortage of teacher. The transfer of teachers in the midterm will add problems to the problems, he added.

Is govt mooting action against large scale issue of arms license?

Madam,

Through the columns of your esteemed daily, I would like to draw the attention of the concerned authority towards the excessive and unlimited arms license issued by the then Deputy Commissioner of Lower Subansiri District, Ziro.

As per the information given by the Home Department, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, each Deputy Commissioner is allowed to grand a 50 number of arms license per year. Shri Kemo Lollen during his one year tenure at Ziro as Deputy Commissioner, he has issued as many as 424 arms licenses without following Govt. orders and codal formalities.

The issuing of such a limitless arms license violating the Govt. norms is serious offence which requires details enquiry and if found guilty erring officers should be punished as per provision of the law. Besides, the indiscriminate issue of arms license may also cause serious law and order problems for the future of the state. Therefore, we must take serious note and condemn such officers who mis-used official power.

In this connection, the Central Executive Body Members of Arunachal Anti -corruption Sena (AACS) led by its president met the Chief Minister and handed over all the documentary evidences along with complaint letter for necessary intervention and the same copy is also served to the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Home Minister, Chief Secretary and Home Commissioner for information and necessary actions. But no action has been taken so far against the corrupted officer nor constituted a high level enquiry committee as demanded by the Sena.

It is a matter of query for every right thinking citizens of the state that why the state Govt. hesitates to take any legal actions against Lollen and what is the reason behind it? How long people of state witness such type of corruption activities? Who will take action against corrupted bureaucrats and technocrats, if the Govt is not willing to take initiative for the same? Where is the corruption free govt as promised by the present Chief Minister? Is the Dorjee Khandu led Congress Govt. encouraging and supporting the corruption activities as practiced by the top ranking officers of the state? If not, then why the state Govt. did not take appropriate action against corrupted officer like Lollen?

And the people of state want to know all this question from the Chief Minister and hope he will definitely give us answer for the same.

With reference to the letter "Choices to make" appeared in this esteemed daily recently, I would like to remind one and all that very demand for creation of Lower Siang District was initiated by WRD minister who is also a local MLA of 36th Nari-Koyu (ST) Assembly Constituency many years ago. Now when the government is all set to create the said district which is also the long felt demand of the people of 28th Likabali (ST) Assembly Constituency and 36th Nari-Koyu (ST) assembly constituency, some section of the society is not willing to welcome it.

The new district would to a great extent boost up the dimension of development. We vehemently condemn the statement of one Tanya Dabi who seems to undermine the sentiments of the Galo's of Ramle-Bango, who have been staging dharnas and agitations for creation of district for so long. We request every intellectual to refrain from such comments which hurt the sentiments of our people.

At the same, we would like to appeal Galo brothers of Basar area to understand our sentiments for which we have been crying for so long. We are not against Basar but it will not be convenient for us to cover the long distance and lots of other inconvenience will have to face by us, if the District Headquarter is established there.

We also appeal the Galo Welfare Society (GWS) and Galo Students Union (GSU) to stick to their resolutions and feel the genuine grievances of the people of Nari-Koyu and Likabali constituencies. And in this regard, we appeal one and all to extend their support and co-operation in our genuine demand.

Gadi proved himself

Madam,

The demand of the Basar ZPM for disqualification of MLA Gojen Gadi for joining the Congress party without tendering his resignation is unfounded and the intention behind it was to malign the good political image of Gojen Gadi.

While clarifying the unfounded allegation against Gadi, I being a Pradesh level Congress worker would like to urge upon the ZPM or PR leaders (not elected on Cogress party ticket) to refrain themselves from commenting on party affairs. What more evidence can we provide to the party high command when we have already shown our winning lead for the Congress in recently concluded LS election under the able leadership of Gojen Gadi.

Who will take care of the mess?

Indira Gandhi once said, “There are two kinds of people, those who do the work and those who take the credit. Try to be in the first group; there is less competition there”

Whenever Itanagar witnesses the forces of nature having a go at it, it reels under the impact and is laid to rest tattered and torn for a couple of days. Not that the fury of nature was devastating but because it isn’t prepared to deal with these kind of situation at all. A good three days of intermittent, not even continuous, rain is enough to give its citizens nightmares. Be it in terms of commutation, communication or just like that. The repercussions are many and varied.

The everyday sight of the capital complex after every good monsoon downpour is disheartening. The never depleting mounds of garbage are generously spread out all over and contribute much to the aesthetic appearance and general hygiene. The drains and canals, if there ever was any, are clogged and we have beautiful streams running across the full stretch of the main street roads, and commuting through these roads makes one feel like a cross-country rally driver. Of course, the adrenaline rush of a young blood is felt and is quite welcome too, but too much of everything is bad and we have been overdosed with this kind of everyday experience. If one wants to experience the mentioned scenario one should truly consider visiting the Akashdeep-Ganga area. Am sure you will not be disappointed. The stench that is present in the air during these times is so overbearing that it makes one feel sick. Thank god, I can blame it on motion sickness, but which rally driver suffers from motion sickness while participating in a rally.

There are many claims made by our political leaders regarding the development they have brought about during their tenures, many achievements they proudly include in their advertised resumes, all of it sounds impressive only in papers but remains largely invisible. How long do we citizens have to put up with all these farce? How long do you think, can the common public be hoodwinked into believing a nothing? How long do we really have to wait till we get what is due to us?

Not all blame can be put on our politicians, I believe most of them are sincere in their endevours and beliefs, and I hope so they remain. In governance, we forget that it is a whole huge system that has to get things done and not just few certain individuals. To be precise, I am referring to the whole bureaucratic system that governments are made of. Politicians are just a part of it; there are other systemic parts that are equally responsible for each and everything going wrong.

All in all it comes down to dispensing ones duties in a rightful manner and not taking undue advantage of the position you are in, and it is in this regard that most of our so called intellectual bureaucrats get away with doing anything they want and even getting the blame put on the gullible politicians who mostly are thick headed. Have a little bit of genuine pride left in you, consider a bit of your moral conscience and integrity if you have any left.

When in a system, every member is assigned a specific part and that is what one should be doing and when every one plays their respective role as it has been worked out, true bureaucracy prevails. That was what Max Weber, the social philosopher, envisioned bureaucracy to be, and it is this vision which led him to believe that bureaucracy would serve its purpose. But thanks to our bureaucrats, they have managed to prove him wrong.

What is meant here is that when we have been assigned our respective duties for which we draw our regular salaries, we ought to have a social responsibility that we have to oblige and that is when the society as a whole moves ahead with the required momentum that is necessary.

Corruption is an evil thing which is inevitable in a human society but it can be brought to a minimum if we want it done. It is a disease that permeates across the section of society and like anything else that is filtered it only becomes more alluring and indispensible in its purest form. When corruption permeates to the bureaucrats from the politicians it becomes very lethal and potent but when it filters down below the level of bureaucrats and takes on a purer form it would result in the ultimate destruction of the society that we all constitute of.

As Confucius said “To put the world right in order, we must first put the nation in order; to put the nation in order, we must first put the family in order; to put the family in order, we must first cultivate our personal life; we must first set our hearts right”. A little selflessness and a will to do the right thing doesn’t do any harm to anyone, it just makes the air around you more breathable. After all, wouldn’t we want to see happiness, satisfaction and a friendly smile around us all?
